About the Event
What:
A biweekly meeting developing plans to provide family care calls for students not engaged in at-home learning and to develop a resource list to provide information and referrals for our families. Join one of two breakout rooms to help develop the above plans supporting students and schools in the South Los Angeles area. Civic and community agencies, schools, businesses, parents, youth and other stakeholders welcome.
Need:
More than 50,000 students in Los Angeles did not log into their at-home learning. Less than 10% of students at many South LA-area schools typically test proficient in math and English Language Arts. Students not connected to at-home learning are expected to have even more learning losses. Our committee is working to help our students receive the academic enrichment and support needed to achieve college and career readiness...despite the pandemic.
